This is a media converter that converts a 10/100/1000Base-TX(RJ-45) to 1000Base-LX(LC) via a 1310nm single-mode fiber (SMF) LC connector, which allows distance reach up to 10km. This AC/DC powered PoE media converter is considered Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) and combines data transferred over a fiber optic link with a power supply providing power to an IEEE802.3af powered device (PD) over CAT5 and UTP cable up to 100 meters (330 feet). This provides a cost-effective conversion from 10/100/1000Base-TX(RJ-45) to 1000Base-LX fiber, while extending the network reach beyond the 100m reach limitation of copper.
